Project Description

High Pointe is part of a proposed ~$16 million redevelopment project including Hudson Pointe. The combined project consists of 147 units of elderly affordable housing divided between two buildings located in the city of Newburgh, within Orange County, NY. The proposed plans call for a $5M tenant in place rehabilitation of both buildings, utilizing energy efficient and green technology. The completion of this project will help preserve high quality affordable housing for the elderly in Newburgh

The project is expected to be funded by a combination of Low Income Housing Tax Credits, NYSERDA Energy Grants, Historic Tax Credits through the NYS Historic Preservation Office and National Park Service, and Tax Exempt Bonds through New York’s Housing and Finance Agency.

High Pointe Apartments is comprised of 82 residential units with plans calling for renovation of all 82 units, common area and exterior of the building. Built in 1998, the building is located in a suburban neighborhood on the corner of West and South Streets in Newburgh, NY.
